Sculpture at Whitney Young

This interactive kinetic sculpture was created in collaboration with the Kindergarten children of Whitney Young Early Childhood Center in Fort Wayne, Indiana. I spent 2007 - 2008 as an artist in residence at the school. This is a magnet school in an urban setting and implements the Reggio Emilia approach to early childhood education.  This approach encourages children to explore concepts and acquire skills through a project-based emergent curriculum. At the School there is a special emphasis on the arts and outstanding teachers and staff.

This sculpture was supported in part by an Individual Artist Grant from the Indiana Arts Commission.

Support was also provided by Metal Supermarkets in Fort Wayne.
